We are happy to announce that we have successfully migrated Finnish Red-Cross mobile app to Flutter 2. The new update of the Finnish Red-Cross has been focused on the technical aspect.
The third version of Punainen Risti has been released in 2019, which was a complete rewrite from the previous native mobile apps. At this time, we chose the Flutter framework as it was a promising technology.
Few weeks ago, Flutter had a big iteration with the support of null-safety, and more platforms. It was time for us to update the code and make the app easier to maintain in the future while it is also opening new possibilities like making a web and desktop version.
More platforms 📱💻🌍
At this stage, the support of a web or desktop version is not planned, but we are keeping the possibilities opened for the future by testing the web/desktop platforms internally.

Other changes
We have also made some small improvements. First you will see the news section is much snappier. Secondly, we have fixed the sharing feature of blood donation event on outlook calendar.
